Meet Nico the Velvet Wunderhound.
This strikingly handsome young lad is only 18 months young but is a tall, lean and muscular blue Weimaraner. His idol is Andy Warhol and he loves the band Velvet Underground. In fact, he went out on tour looking for them but wound up homeless and was found on the street in Las Cruces, NM. He was begging for Campbell’s tomato soup and bananas! Nico is a very mellow Weimaraner who loves to be near either a male or female human companion. He is crate-trained, potty-trained and knows his basic commands. He is great with other dogs in the home but he is in obedience school for his confusion and fear of other dogs in public. He plays well with most but does not like in-tact males. Nico also has a tendency to jump fences if left outside (which we wouldn’t recommend anyway) but is such a big baby he runs and waits at the front door. He is excellent on a leash and loves going for leisurely strolls. Cats are interesting to him but he doesn’t seem to mind them; it is believed he could live in a home with a dog-savvy cat. He would be great in a home with other dogs or as an only-dog.
